Powerball Winner for August 10, 2001 Drawing
A couple from Burnsville, Minnesota, won the Powerball Jackpot for August 10, 2011. The couple entered the Minnesota State Lottery headquarters at 2:30 pm on Friday afternoon to claim the $229 Million dollar Powerball Jackpot prize.
The way this couple won the lottery is really amazing. Tom and Kathleen Morris met with their financial planner, on Monday before the 1st Powerball drawing of the week. They meet with him to talk about their retirement. Their financial planner told them that they still needed a few more years of work before they could afford to retire. The couple was disillusioned for a moment, that’s when Kathleen told Tom that the only way they would retire was if they won the lottery. So the couple left the financial planners office replaying the conversation.
Mr. Morris said that he always bought three Powerball tickets for every drawing. So this time when he was at the Super America convenience store in Lakeville, MN, he reached into his pocket and pulled out a five dollar bill. He remembered the conversation he had with his wife and financial planner and decided to buy 5 Powerball tickets.
And, as luck would have it? The winning numbers, 11-18-36-41-46, and Powerball number 38, hit on the fourth ticket. If Mr. Morris wouldn’t bought his usual three lines, he wouldn’t of won the Powerball Jackpot.
